Chapter openers
The pattern design for the chapter openers is derived from close-ups of the 2007 cover design. Each of the four chapters zoom in on a number. The pages are printed 5-colour on 2-colour black.
Proofing service
The captions for this book were supplied as metadata within the Photoshop file. We expanded on this data, filled in the gaps, checked facts and revised the text to create cohesive stories.
Translation service
The book was printed in five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Professional translations were arranged and proofed in-house.
Duotone black and whites
The black-and-white images were printed as duotones to give sumptuous colour and a greater depth.
Cover calendar
The inside of the fold-out jacket doubles up as the Getty Year in Focus events calendar 2008.
